DeMarcus Lawrence was right about the Cowboys, validates himself with Seahawks

DeMarcus Lawrence caught everyone's attention in the offseason.

In an interview, the star pass rusher said he loved Dallas but knew he'd never win a Super Bowl with the Cowboys.

Cowboys fans did not take too kindly to that.

But at the moment, Lawrence has found quite the validation for himself.

His new team, the Seattle Seahawks, were the NFC's No. 1 seed and won on Saturday night over the 49ers in blowout fashion to advance to the NFC Championship Game.

The Cowboys didn't come close to making the playoffs, and they haven't played in the conference championship game since 1995.

Lawrence had a sack in the win over San Francisco, for good measure.

During the regular season, Lawrence had 6.0 sacks, forced three fumbles and recovered three fumbles.

He's 33 years old now, needing a bit more measured approach to playing time.

But he always had a game with the potential to shine brighter when the stage got bigger.

He just had to leave Dallas to find that stage.

Just like Saturday night, Lawrence and the Seahawks will be home in next Sunday's NFC title game. They'll play the winner of Rams-Bears.

And Lawrence is a lot closer to the Super Bowl right now than he ever was in Dallas.
