Deion Sanders 'hurting' with suspected blood clots, seeking medical intervention

Deion Sanders said he has been dealing with extreme pain in his legs and revealed more blood clots could be present.

"Cat's out of the bag, all right. I think I've got more blood clots," Sanders said during his press conference on Saturday night. "It don't make sense. I'm hurting like crazy."

This came after the Colorado Buffaloes' third straight loss and are now winless in Big 12 play. The 35-21 loss to TCU took a toll on Sanders, who was spotted on the sideline coaching without a shoe on his left foot at one point.

"I'm not getting blood to my leg. That's why my leg is throbbing," Sanders added.

Sanders spent most of the offseason away from Boulder as he dealt with bladder cancer. That was thought to be the latest health setback for the 58-year-old Hall of Famer. His bladder was removed with intestine reconstruction used for bodily function.

If doctors determine Sanders is experiencing a new round of blood clots, he could be ushered into energency surgery to remove them like he was two years ago. The struggle has been real for Coach Prime since having two toes amputated in 2021 while at Jackson State. He missed Pac-12 media day in 2023 to have a few different surgeries.

Sanders will be looking for answers in his personal journey and may miss time on the sidelines. Colorado welcomes No. 22 Iowa State into Boulder on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
