Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from Spain duty for this month's FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
La Roja cruised to qualification wins away in Bulgaria and Turkey last month ahead of a home double header against Georgia and Bulgaria on October 11th and 14th.
Lamine Yamal returned from September's camp injured, and the 18-year-old missed four games with a groin issue, as Hansi Flick criticised the conduct of Spain's medical team.
The teenager completed 70+ minutes in both matches, but he will not feature this time, after being sent straight back to Barcelona following a check on his latest injury.
He missed last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Sevilla, which ended Flick's unbeaten start to his La Liga title defence in 2025/26, on the back of a 2-1 Champions League home defeat to PSG.
Sporting director Deco has previously looked to play peacemaker between Flick, Luis de la Fuente and the Spanish FA [RFEF] and the former midfielder has reiterated the message of 'nothing to see here'.

"Lamine was suffering after the PSG match. We decided he wouldn't play against Sevilla because he needed intensive recovery. We discussed it internally and sent the report, which the RFEF accepted," as per quotes from Marca.
"It's normal for Lamine to speak with the national team coach. De la Fuente also spoke to Gavi to inquire about his injury latest."

After completing 90 minutes in Barcelona's first four league games of the campaign, Lamine Yamal then missed four across domestic and European action, and has only paid 32 minutes of league action since then.
Barcelona return to action at home to Girona on October 18 and Flick will make a late call whether to recall his talisman.
