Day 5-7 Challenges:

Day 5 – Do a Bill Audit: Review your last bank or credit card statement. Look for auto-renewals or small charges you forgot about. Cancel and reclaim those funds. (Save: $5–$10)

Day 6 – Skip Takeout: Make a fun dinner at home instead. Light candles to help it feel special. (Save: $15–$25)

Day 7 – Invite a Friend Over: Have plans to meet up with a friend for dinner? Invite your friend over to your house and enjoy dinner, snacks, or coffee & dessert at home for free, using what you already have on hand. (Save: $15-$25)

Since we’re in Atlanta for a week for a travel ball tournament for Silas, I am going to share something that we discovered when we did an audit of our budget and bills two weeks ago. And it was bit a shocking!

I had signed up for a membership for something that I had been using for the business for a full year. I decided to put my membership on hold during the summer because I wasn’t going to be using it. However, somehow, they had still charged me for the membership fee — without sending me any sort of notice! We were SO glad we caught it and were able to get it taken care of otherwise it would have been quite a bit of money out of pocket that we had no idea we were spending if we hadn’t done the audit.

So, just a reminder to check your bank account and credit card statements very carefully. Because even if you think you aren’t being charged for something, you just might be… and it could add up quickly!

We’re currently at $45.25 found/saved so far with the challenge. How much have you saved/found so far as part of the challenge?
