Kristen Bell Reveals the Secret to 11-Year Marriage With Dax Shepard

Dax Shepard had a cheeky reaction to Kristen Bell’s Emmy nomination.

In honor of his wife nabbing a nod in the Outstanding Lead Actress category July 15 for her work in Nobody Wants This, the Armchair Expert host celebrated with a nude photo.

“People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s,” he wrote on Instagram July 15 alongside a pic of his wife in downward dog wearing nothing but a pair of blue knee socks. “This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!”

Dax’s comments section was filled with fans and friends who were equally excited to see the accolade and picture—which he censored with a carefully placed red box.

Nina Dobrev wrote, “hahahaha yessssss go girl! Suns out buns out for that Emmy,” while Gwyneth Paltrow added, “Oh my God, Dax.”

For her part, Kristen—who shares daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, with Dax—kept her clothes on as she reacted to the news of her nod as well as creator and executive producer Erin Foster’s nomination in the Outstanding Comedy Series category.

“Finding out I was nominated for an Emmy,” Kristen, 44, captioned the July 15 Instagram carousel of her and Erin appearing together on a Zoom call with their mouths open in excitement. “finding out @erinfoster was nominated for an Emmy!!!!”

Dax, 50, celebrated his wife of eleven years once more in the comments section of her post writing, “May you only listen to 'Strut' by Steven Seagal all day long. You’ve earned it!!!!”

Adam Brody—who plays a rabbi named Noah that unexpectedly falls for Kristen’s character Joanne, a sex positive podcast host—also snagged a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor bringing the series’ total nominations to three.

The award love should come as no surprise for the series, which quickly became a fan-favorite—in part due to the obvious chemistry between Kristen and Adam. In fact, the Good Place actress admitted Dax gave her and Adam the seal of approval from day one.

“Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, ‘Whoa, that’s hot,’” Kristen said in an October interview with eTalk. “My husband said the same thing. Like, watching the first episode he was like, ‘Oh my god, I want you to kiss him so badly.’”
