David Harbour played coy when asked about his rumored split from wife Lily Allen.
The “Stranger Things” star’s love life has been a hot topic of conversation since December 2024, but he made it clear he did not want to discuss it during an interview with GQ Hype published Wednesday.
“Oh, boy,” he told journalist Hayley Campbell after she brought up his relationship with Allen.
Harbour, who had not previously addressed speculation about the end of his four-year marriage, then told the magazine that he is very “protective of the people and the reality of [his] life.”
The actor, 50, downplayed the numerous reports as nothing but tabloid fodder — but notably did not deny the breakup.
“There’s no use in that form of engaging [with tabloids] because it’s all based on hysterical hyperbole,” he continued, noting that he did not want to encourage “a salacious s–t show of humiliation.”
Harbour’s remarks came two months after sources told People that he and Allen, who wed in Las Vegas in 2020, had called it quits.
The insiders said the pair’s marriage “had been crumbling” for some time before they finally decided to separate.

Allen, 39, first hinted at marital troubles in episodes of her “Miss Me?” podcast.
In January, the pop star admitted she was “spiraling” and struggling “to be interested in anything.”
“I’m really not in a good place,” she told listeners.
Allen checked herself into a $10,000-a-week trauma center soon after, where she stayed for a month while working on her mental health issues.
“I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed,” she told fans the following month.
“I did a lot of group therapy and some individual therapy, and I just, I needed some time and space away from everything,” the “Smile” singer continued.
While Allen was in treatment, Harbour notably attended the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards and the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special without his wedding ring.
He was also spotted out and about with much-younger model Ellie Beers Fallon.
In mid-February, insiders told the Daily Mail that Harbour and Fallon, 27, were officially dating. The two reportedly met last year and went on a trip to India together for New Year’s.
People close to Allen said she was “very upset” by her husband’s new romance and is “convinced that Ellie and David had been seeing each other before they split.”
However, they noted that the Grammy nominee “feels so much better” after seeking treatment and believes Harbour’s issues “have nothing to do with her anymore.”
