Garth Brooks Hopes to Move His Sexual Assault Case to Federal Court

David Del Rio’s wife Katherine Del Rio is speaking out amid his sexual assault allegations.

After multiple outlets reported that the Matlock actor, who portrayed associate Billy Martinez, had been removed from the Kathy Bates-led CBS series following an investigation surrounding a sexual assault allegation, his wife shared cryptic posts slamming his costar Leah Lewis. (CBS confirmed to multiple outlets that David had exited the series but did not elaborate further.)

In a since-deleted Oct. 9 Instagram Story viewed by Page Six and Us Weekly, Katherine—who tied the knot with David in 2018—shared a zoomed in photo of Leah adding, “This is the most disturbing human being I’ve ever met.”

That same day, Leah, who portrays lawyer Sarah Franklin on Matlock, seemingly responded to the controversy and David’s departure by sharing a photo of her and her mom Lorraine Lewis with a message to fans.

“Mom is here,” the Nancy Drew alum wrote in an Oct. 9 Instagram Story viewed by Deadline and Page Six. “We’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands. Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care.”

She continued, “Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Let that be the takeaway.”

Katherine—who is mom to daughters Lilliam, 2, and Coco, 7 months, with David—appeared to imitate the post alongside a photo of her and her own mom and calling out the Matlock actress by name.

“Mom is here,” Katherine wrote in the Oct. 9 post, viewed by Deadline. “We’re moving forward in love and strength after what Leah did to our family. Thank you all for the love and support!”

E! News has reached out to CBS and reps for David regarding his exit as well as reps for Leah and Katherine but has not yet heard back.
