The Patriots turned to Dave Portnoy to help reveal their 2025 schedule on Wednesday.
Using one of the Barstool Sports founder’s popular phrases, they captioned the video “Emergency Press Conference – 2025 Patriots Schedule” as Portnoy seemingly shot from the cuff for over five minutes as he broke down all 17 of the Pats’ games.
Portnoy is a fervent supporter of Boston sports teams, including the Patriots. The video went live as Portnoy was sitting courtside at Boston Garden for Game 5 of the Knicks-Celtics series.
Speaking from in front of the Patriots’ six Super Bowl trophies, Portnoy read off the schedule, starting with New England’s Week 1 opponent, the Raiders.
“Josh McDaniels was fired by the Raiders. Don’t forget this, he was fired by the Raiders while he was out trick-or-treating with his kids on Halloween,” Portnoy said in the video. “It’s time to remind the league, when you mess with the Patriots, it comes in blood. We are going to destroy this team 42-7 and announce our arrival back as a premier team in this league.”

He later turned his attention to the Week 7 matchup with the Titans, where he describes it as a “Vrabel revenge game” since Tennessee is where current Patriots coach Mike Vrabel coached before getting fired after the 2023 season
“How stupid are the Titans to let this guy go?” Portnoy said. “They just drafted Cam Ward, who cares. Rookie quarterback. This may be the biggest blowout of the season.”
The decision to include Portnoy in their schedule release video is a notable one by the Patriots, considering his history with the league office, and more specifically, commissioner Roger Goodell.

Portnoy had two publicized run-ins with the NFL, which included a stunt at the league’s offices in New York City when he and three other Barstool employees handcuffed themselves to one another and demanded to meet with Goodell in protest to “Deflategate.”
Monday marked the 10-year anniversary of the protest.
In 2019, he and “Pardon My Take” host PFT Commenter were also kicked out of Super Bowl media night after the league banned them from events following the handcuff incident.
