Dark Horse Manga has announced that the cult classic manga Oldboy will be the next series to receive its signature Deluxe Edition treatment. Originally written by Garon Tsuchiya and illustrated by Nobuaki Minegishi, Oldboy will be repackaged into two oversized (7×10”) hardcover volumes featuring new noir-inspired covers with metallic silver foil and ribbon bookmarks.
A winner of the 2007 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material, Oldboy is a searing mystery thriller that explores revenge, memory, and the scars of the past. The manga was also the inspiration for Park Chan-wook’s acclaimed 2003 film adaptation.
- Book One of the Oldboy Deluxe Edition collects volumes 1–4 of the original manga. It follows Shinichi Goto, a man who wakes up after ten years of inexplicable imprisonment. With no knowledge of who held him captive or why, Goto sets out on a relentless quest for answers—and vengeance. Oldboy Deluxe Edition: Book One arrives in bookstores on January 6, 2026, and in comic shops on January 7, 2026, for $69.99.
- Book Two continues the suspense, collecting volumes 5–8. Goto inches closer to uncovering the identity of his tormentor, only to realize that his captor may have lured him into a psychological trap rooted in forgotten adolescent memories. Book Two will be released on March 24, 2026 (bookstores) and March 25, 2026 (comic shops), also priced at $69.99.
