The Cleveland Cavaliers can breathe a huge sigh of relief with the latest update on Darius Garland's injury. When people heard about how he got another toe injury, many feared it was the same issue from before.
He has another toe issue, but this time, it is on his right foot. This is not the same toe injury that required surgery in the 2025 offseason.
The Cavaliers will get Garland back soon
Throughout this season, the Cavaliers have been juggling all kinds of starting lineups. They have the most variation with their starting five, with over 30 this season. Garland's injury issues play a massive role in that particular issue.
Garland is a vital piece of the puzzle for head coach Kenny Atkinson. Unfortunately, his injury troubles continue to be one of the most significant issues for the team's continuity.

When Atkinson initially gave updates about Garland's injury, he mistakenly said that it was the same toe. That led to the Cavaliers fans panicking because they thought it was a re-aggravation.
Now that it has been announced that it is on the other foot, people can now breathe easier. He won't be missing too much time as well, as he will be re-evaluated in the next week or so.
The Cavaliers announced that it is a Grade 1 right great toe sprain. He will undergo a series of treatments and rehabilitation processes so that he can return as soon as possible.
