Dante Moore needs 1 thing from Bo Nix before Oregon-Penn State

1 hour ago 3

Sophomore quarterback Dante Moore has led No. 6 Oregon to a 4-0 record in his first season as a starter, but the real work starts on Saturday.

The Ducks will face No. 2 Penn State in what will be the first ranked matchup of the season for both teams. Oregon is coming off a 41-7 blowout of Oregon State, while the Nittany Lions were on bye. Before that, the latter team disposed of Villanova 52-6.

Not only will Penn State have home-field advantage in the primetime clash, but it will also be a "White Out" game, a tradition where fans wear white to create a unified look and intimidate the opponent.

Meanwhile, Moore is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the contest, via USA Today's Zachary Neel.

"Dante Moore says he plans to reach out to Bo Nix to talk about playing in a White Out at Penn State," he reported. "Nix played at Penn State while with Auburn in 2021."

Nix completed 21-of-37 passes for 185 yards along with 29 rushing yards on six carries in the 28-20 loss in that contest.

Dante Moore looks to follow in Bo Nix's footsteps

Nix played three seasons at Auburn before starting under center for Oregon in 2022 and 2023, winning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in the latter season. He also led the Ducks to a 12-2 (8-1 Pac-12) record and a Fiesta Bowl win that year.

Nix then got drafted No. 12 overall by the Denver Broncos in 2024 and is now their starting quarterback. Moore could use advice from a player with that resume, as he has yet to start against a ranked squad for the Ducks.

The game will start at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock.
