After it was announced that Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers would miss tonight’s game against the Washington Mystics due to a right knee injury suffered in yesterday’s matchup against the Indiana Fever, fans were understandably disappointed. The bad news didn’t stop there.

Bueckers had just delivered a spectacular performance—27 points, six assists, two steals, two blocks and a rebound, all without committing a single turnover. Despite her efforts, the Wings still came up short in a 94–86 loss to the Fever. With Bueckers leading the team in nearly every major statistical category (except rebounds), her absence is a massive blow.

Speaking of rebounds, the team leader in that category, Maddy Siegrist, is also out tonight. She’s sidelined with a right knee injury of her own. Tough luck doesn’t even begin to cover it.

But it gets worse.

It’s not just Bueckers and Siegrist. The Wings’ injury report looks like a full lineup of absentees. Here's the full list of players not suiting up tonight:

Paige Bueckers – Out (Right Knee)

DiJonai Carrington – Doubtful (Rib)

Luisa Geiselsöder – Out (National Team Obligation)

Ty Harris – Out (Left Knee)

Teaira McCowan – Out (National Team Obligation)

Maddy Siegrist – Out (Right Knee)

With so many key players unavailable, the Wings are facing an uphill battle, not just tonight, but for the foreseeable future. The team has already struggled to find consistency this season, and with a depleted roster, the road ahead just got a whole lot tougher.
