GOP mayoral nominee Curtis Sliwa ripped foe Andrew Cuomo and the Dem Party on Saturday when asked whether he’s playing spoiler in the race — saying they’re the only ones to blame if Zohran Mamdani wins.
“Now [Cuomo’s] saying, `I can’t win without Sliwa votes.’ Where are your votes?!” Sliwa said on YouTube’s “The Nate Friedman Show.”
The rise of the lefty Democratic Socialist Mamdani “is the result of Democrats’ self-destruction,” Sliwa said.
“Who created Zohran Mamdani?” he said.
“So I’m supposed to help them? How come they don’t help themselves? Andrew Cuomo failed everyone in the [Democratic] primary. He even admitted it,” Sliwa said.
“Go out and get your own votes.”
The Guardian Angels founder was steaming that Democratic former Gov. Cuomo and others — including billionaire investor Bill Ackman — are accusing him of guaranteeing the election of Dem Party nominee and front-runner Mamdani by splitting the anti-Mamdani vote between himself and Cuomo instead of stepping aside to give the ex-governor a better shot.
Cuomo is running on the independent “Fight and Deliver” ballot line after Mamdani trounced him in the Democratic primary. The ex-gov is running second in the polls, double digits behind Mamdani but ahead of Sliwa.
Sliwa said his supporters have issues with both Cuomo and Mamdani.
“Everybody who is going to vote for me is suddenly going to be reborn and say, `We love Andrew Cuomo?’ He killed all those elderly,” Sliwa said, referencing Cuomo’s gubernatorial administration that ordered nursing homes to admit COVID-infected patients discharged from overwhelmed hospitals during the peak of the pandemic.
“He’s a sexual harasser,” the GOPer added of Cuomo, referring to accusations from women that the former gov denies but nonetheless forced his resignation as governor under the threat of impeachment.
Sliwa also noted that Cuomo suggested in 2014 that New Yorkers who oppose abortion and support gun rights should leave the state, creating outcry from conservatives.

The Republican candidate, meanwhile, dismissed Ackman, the founder of Pershing Square Capital, and other 1 Percenters who are trying to influence the race in Cuomo’s favor.
“Ackman is a jerk,” Sliwa said.
“Stay in your lane,” he advised the moneyman. “We know Andrew Cuomo lost. He’s already tossed in the towel.”
Sliwa argued that, unlike Cuomo, he is a major party nominee. He added that he has an obligation to stay in the race to help down-ballot Republican candidates vying for City Council and judgeships.
But Cuomo said he’s the candidate with the best shot to topple Mamdani in a one-on-one race, not Sliwa — so it makes since for the GOPer to step aside, given the consequences if he doesn’t.
“Curtis Sliwa can’t win the race. He was put there by Republican Party bosses,” Cuomo said on ABC 7’s “Up Close with Bill Ritter” on Sunday.
“He’s there as a spoiler. The Republican Party wants to see Zohran Mamdani win for their own political purposes. A vote for Curtis Sliwa is a a vote for Zohran Mamdani,” the ex-gov said.
Ackman, in a statement he posted on X after Sliwa’s interview, accused the Republican of being selfish.
“@CurtisSliwa cares more about being in the spotlight for two and a half weeks than he does about New York City. He makes that abundantly clear in this clip. You tell me who is being the jerk, his words,” Ackman wrote.
“@ZohranKMamdani says billionaires should not exist,” the mega investor said. “Zohran says he is an ‘existential threat’ to me and other billionaires. That’s not a smart strategy for raising the revenues that keep the city solvent. And yes, he is also a jerk.”
The mudslinging comes as nine days of early voting kicks off Saturday ahead of the Nov. 4 Election Day.
The final mayoral debate will be hosted by NY1 on Wednesday.
