Culinary Class Wars returned to Netflix with a season 2 on Tuesday, December 16. Three episodes dropped together, marking the show’s second competitive run. Following the launch, the release schedule stays weekly.
So, the remaining episodes are set to arrive every Tuesday. Episodes four through seven will be released on December 23rd at 5 pm KST on the same platform. The season follows the same core structure as before. One hundred chefs are divided into two groups. White Spoon chefs represent experience and established careers. Meanwhile, Black Spoons enter as rising talents seeking recognition.
Judges Paik Jong-won and Anh Sung-jae also return to oversee blind tastings and eliminations. Season two introduces new rules and surprise twists, including hidden White Spoon entries. Each challenge raises the pressure as chefs compete for survival and advancement.
What's ahead in Culinary Class Wars season 2?
The upcoming Culinary Class Wars season 2 episodes, 4 to 7, promise a sharper turn in the competition. The premiere rounds saw sixty-one Black Spoon chefs eliminated early out of 80. One White Spoon chef, Kim Do-hyun, also exited the kitchen. Only one contestant, Choi Kang-rok, managed to advance from that stage.
The next challenge shifts into direct one-on-one battles between a White Spoon and a Black Spoon chef. This season’s duel theme focuses on regional Korean ingredients. Twenty specialty items are displayed across the kitchen floor. Each represents a distinct local food culture from different regions. Once two chefs agree to duel, they choose a spot on the map.
Only then is the regional ingredient revealed. Both chefs must build a dish strong enough to defeat the opponent. There is no room for safe cooking. Son Jong-won is the first to step forward. Against him, Three Star Killer accepts the challenge. They select Wonju as their region. The ingredient turns out to be Wonju beef tongue.
Three Star Killer serves a beef tongue steak with Sichuan pepper sauce. Son presents beef tongue with Dubaek potatoes sourced from Wonju. After tasting, the judges favor Son’s dish, and Three Star Killer is eliminated. The next duel pairs Venerable Sunjae with Dweji Gomtang in New York. They chose Gapyeong County, and the ingredient is Gapyeong pine nuts. Chef Sunjae prepares Monk’s Smile pine nut vegetable noodles.
Meanwhile, Dweji Gomtang presents a vegetable japchae. By the end of episode 3 of Culinary Class Wars season 2, judges struggle to reach a decision. With this, the outcome is left unresolved. So, the following episodes will reveal who survives. More White Spoon and Black Spoon matchups are coming as well. Moreover, new regions and ingredients will be unlocked. Each duel will directly shape the next round of the war. After this challenge concludes, a new challenge is expected to follow.
Culinary Class Wars Season 2 consists of 13 episodes, with the finale airing on January 6, 2026.
