Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong looked like anything but the best defensive outfielder in baseball on this play

All's well that ends well.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong had a nightmare moment in centerfield on Thursday night against the Athletics. But by game's end, he was the center of the party.

The ending was this: PCA hit a walk-off single to cap a four-run bottom of the ninth inning for the Cubs to stun the A's.

That's all well and good, but it's still crazy to see what happened earlier.

Shea Langeliers hit a fly ball to deep center, but in catchable territory.

Crow-Armstrong lost it immediately. He stuck his arms up, looked at the sky aimlessly and had the ball land 20 feet behind him.

The A's catcher hustled for an inside-the-park home run:

Crow-Armstrong is usually in the outfield making plays that take everyone's breath away.

On this night, though, he had a very human moment of mortality. He can't catch everything. It's tough to catch something your eyes don't even see.

As the post above mentions, the pitcher Shota Imanaga probably wasn't thrilled with what happened.

But if not for those extra runs, PCA wouldn't have had the chance at the walk-off winner later on. So yep, all is well that ends well.
