Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong joins Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig in MLB history with all-time June

The Chicago Cubs have had a bit of a roller coaster of a 2026 season so far, as they looked like the team to beat in the NL Central for a little while before a massive losing streak and injuries brought them down a few notches.

But now, they're finally turning things around as June comes to a close. Dansby Swanson's hot streak is a big reason why, but the Cubs have seen Pete Crow-Armstrong do something only two others have done in MLB history in a mont hbefore.

As OptaSTATS shared on Twitter/x, PCA became just the second player to meet six statistical thresholds in a single month in MLB history, joining MLB legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig as the only players to accomplish this feat.

Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong joins Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in ridiculous MLB history

"Pete Crow-Armstrong of the @Cubs is one of three players in MLB history to have a month with: .375+ batting average, .775+ slugging pct, 80+ total bases, 15+ walks, 10+ home runs, 5+ stolen bases," OptaSTATS shared.

The only two players to accomplish such a feat are Gehrig in June of 1930 and Ruth three times in June of 1920, July of 1920, and May of 1930, according to OptaSTATS.

Any time a player can join Ruth and Gehrig with some MLB history, it's a good thing. In this instance for Crow-Armstrong, this piece of MLB history is incredibly impressive.

While PCA hit all of those statistical thresholds, what did he actually do in June overall? Well, his 26-game month, where the Cubs went 16-10, was an incredible one.

Across 126 plate appearances and 105 at-bats, PCA had 40 hits, 21 runs scored, five doubles, two triples, 11 homers, 20 RBIs, eight stolen bases, 17 walks, a .381 batting average, .468 on-base percentage, .781 slugging percentage, a 1.249 OPS, and 82 total bases.

Crow-Armstrong is up to 5.1 bWAR on the regular season, the most in baseball among position players so far this season. He has an .888 OPS, and some of the best defense in baseball out in center field for the Cubs.

This history-making June for Crow-Armstrong, along with his remarkable season-long statistics, makes his current All-Star snub totally ridiculous.

He should make the team once the rest of the roster is announced, but not even making Phase 2 of voting when he might be the best outfielder in baseball right now is completely ridiculous.

Regardless, Crow-Armstrong just had one of the best months in MLB history, joining only Ruth and Gehrig with this six-leg statistical achievement.
