Cubs’ Dansby Swanson gives wife Mallory the best birthday present ever

Dansby Swanson needed something to break him out of his early-season slump.

Turns out his wife Mallory's birthday did the trick.

Dansby lined a ball deep down the left field line and over the fence on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh for a solo home run.

It was the perfect way to celebrate his wife's birthday.

Dansby entered the night batting just .181 on the season and had started the game 0-for-2 before going deep.

This was his fifth home run of the season, with his power stroke about the only thing going slightly right in the early going.

Mallory, formerly Mallory Pugh, is a star for the United States women's national soccer team. She turned 27 on Tuesday.

The Swansons will be hoping this is exactly the moment that gets Dansby rolling again at the plate. The Cubs would love that, too.
