Crystal Palace take on Finnish side KuPS in a UEFA Conference League match at Selhurst Park this Thursday.

Crystal Palace are currently in 9th place in the Conference League, a bit of a disappointing position given their Premier League form. KuPS, meanwhile, are in 25th, but are only three points behind their opponents.

So will Crystal Palace ease to a win, or will KuPS pull off what would be a big surprise?

• Unsurprisingly, Crystal Palace have never faced KuPS before. In fact, KuPS have never before faced English opponents in their rare forays into European competition, which date back to the 1960's.
• Crystal Palace are coming off only their fourth Premier League loss of the season, as they were beaten by Manchester City 0-3 at Selhurst Park on Sunday. The game was a disappointing one for Oliver Glasner's side, as they had twice the number of shots as their opponents and struck the woodwork twice.
• In European competition, Palace last defeated Irish side Shelbourne with relative ease, but they have suffered two defeats in the Conference League, most notably losing at home to Cypriot side AEK Larnaca back in October.
• KuPS have actually suffered just one loss in the Conference League, falling to Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok on Matchweek 4. It's fair to say, though, that after facing teams from Kosovo, Iceland, Slovakia and Switzerland, the Finnish side have not taken on anyone as good as Crystal Palace yet.
• Despite Crystal Palace enjoying a strong start to their season, it is worth noting that they haven't been invulnerable at home, as they have lost six times in all competitions to date - and three of those defeats have come at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace's thin squad in general may end up landing them in trouble later in the season, particularly if injuries end up biting.

For now, though, Oliver Glasner essentially has a full squad to select from and despite losing to Manchester City, they were still largely impressive.

KuPS are clearly not a terrible side - they did win their domestic league, which ended in October, for instance - but nothing they have done in the Conference League to date suggests they can push Palace here.

Therefore, a clear-cut home win is the prediction here.
