His eyes were bigger than his stomach.
A Crumbl Cookies customer in North Carolina nearly lost his lunch when he witnessed an employee styling another worker’s hair near the kitchen of the dessert shop — and captured it on video that appears to have gotten them axed.
A man pulled up to Crumbl Cookies’ Midtown location in Charlotte expecting to purchase the popular cookies — but instead he saw someone getting their hair done around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, during business hours, WCNC reported.
The store closes at 11 p.m. on Fridays, according to an online listing for the Midtown Charlotte location.
The unidentified customer said he briefly watched what he described as “hair play” between two women, so he took out his phone and recorded the bizarre situation — before he decided to entere the store.
Once inside, he ripped the workers, calling their bizarre behavior unsanitary — to which the employee playing hair stylist callously responded, “do you see me cooking?”
Surprisingly, he still tried to order soft chocolate chip cookies, but was out of luck since there weren’t any fresh ones left.
The video, which quickly shot to viral stardom, was noticed by another person who also witnessed the hair brouhaha. Both witnesses ended up filing separate complaints to Crumbl’s corporate offices.
The dessert giant — known for their weekly rotating specialty cookies — said it was aware of the incident in a statement and called the conduct “unacceptable” and “inappropriate.”
“Upon learning of the incident, we immediately closed the store, discarded all dough on site, brought in a professional cleaning crew, and took appropriate action with the employees involved,” the statement continued.
“We hold every location to strict health and safety policies, and we take violations seriously when they occur.”
The two employees involved in the controversy no longer work for the company, WCNC reported.
The Crumbl store was closed on Monday for cleaning and reopened Tuesday.
