According to reports in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo is close to agreeing a new contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The 40-year-old Portugal captain's deal was due to expire at the end of June, but sources indicate a two-year extension is close to being finalised.
Ronaldo fueled speculation about his future last month after he posted a cryptic social media post stating “the chapter is over”.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino then raised the prospect of him joining a team involved in the Club World Cup after Al-Nassr failed to qualify for the tournament, which is being held in the USA.
Ronaldo also revealed that he turned down offers from several teams participating in the competition.
Finally, after helping Portugal to their second UEFA Nations League title, Ronaldo seems to have decided to continue his stay at Al-Nassr.

What Ronaldo’s extension could mean for him

Ronaldo’s extension at Al-Nassr could be seen as a testament to his ambition and drive despite his advancing age.
The Portuguese superstar is coming off the back of a disappointing season with Al-Nassr, where the club failed to win any major trophies.
He will be eager to right that wrong over the course of his new contract with the club. But he will have to do it under the guidance of a new coach.
Ronaldo’s Portuguese compatriot Jorge Jesus is all set to take charge of Al-Nassr, and the duo will be looking to guide Al-Nassr to their first major piece of silverware in the Ronaldo era.
