Is the future finally here?

A crazy video has gone viral of humanoid robots fighting each other ahead of an upcoming match in the Bay Area and it really does look like something out a sci-fi movie.

While we still aren’t flying off in hover cars or jet packs, it appears robot sports have officially arrived.

In the clip posted on X from virtual reality innovator Cix Liv, two AI robots battle each other, trying to best the other one as the crowd cheers on the scene.

“The first fight ever between an Engine and Unitree robot at our new store space in SF,” the CEO of the humanoid robot league REX wrote.

In the clip, the two robots battle it out like humans, punching, dodging hits, and moving around their opponent during the fight.

At several times, each of the robots kick and punch at their opponents while maintaining unbelievable balance.

In the end, both end up kicking the other in the head and both robots crash to the ground.

The video showed the different skills each of the robots brought to the table, with the Engine AI robot ( the dark metal one) “built for high dynamic performance and real world deployment in logistics, hospitality and factory collaboration,” one description on Facebook read.

Compared to Unitree (the white and black robot) which has “capabilities such as jumping, walking at over 4.4 mph, and climbing debris-covered stairs,” another description read.

According to the Unitree website, the humanoid robot “can simulate human hands to achieve precise operation of objects.”

Liv, also the CEO of the humanoid Robot League REK (Robot Entertainment Kombat), recently announced that the first ever “humanoid store in the USA” was coming to San Francisco’s Nob Hill this summer.

The CEO said the location will operate as a shop during the day, with “robot fights at night.”

We just signed a lease for the first humanoid store in the USA! The @REK Shop.

Coming to San Francisco Nob Hill in ~2 months.

“We realized that to familiarize people with robots in our lives we must start introducing them,” Liv told the San Francisco Chronicle about the shop

“We hope to also have the robots know the people by name so they can talk to our customers.”

The news of the robot shop comes ahead of an announcement about another humanoid robot league known as UFB (Ultimate Fighting Bots) who is getting ready for a huge fight in the Bay Area on May 14.

The Post reached out to both robot leagues for further comment.

“On May 14, Ultimate Bots launches Season 1 at Temple SF,” the post read

Organizers are promising attendees,  “Humanoid robot fights, Robot dance offs” as well as Live performances.

The UFB is also planning to host another robot fight in Southern California in October.

“On Venice Beach next to the iconic sign, we fused projection mapping, tech, and culture into a city-scale spectacle – capped by Preston facing the founder of BattleBots in an unforgettable uneven deathmatch,” a statement about the October 17 battle in Venice Beach read.
