With the rumor mill churning about who the mystery player could be, some suggest that it could be three-time First-Team All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. NFL insider John Frascella shared a tweet highlighting this possible situation.

During this interview on SiriusXM radio, Jerry Jones stated that this mystery player will address some of the issues that the Cowboys have had on the field. They are currently 3-4-1 this season with the hopes of improving their record after potentially winning their Week 9 showdown against the Cardinals on Monday.

The Cowboys traded away star linebacker Micah Parsons to the Packers in the offseason. This decision has cost them heavily on the field, as Brian Schottenheimer's defense is one of the worst in the league this year. They are ranked 31st in total defense rankings through Week 8, allowing 30 touchdowns on the field.

Thus, the acquisition of a defensive player like Minkah Fitzpatrick would make sense for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. Plus, as per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Dolphins are open to trade offers for the five-time Pro Bowler, even though they just got him via a trade with the Steelers back in June.
