The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best defensive players in football on their team, and yet, they don't seem to be in a rush to sign him to a long-term contract extension.
The Micah Parsons negotiations are getting odder and odder the longer they go on.
ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter joined the Pat McAfee Show on Monday to share the latest.
"The Dallas Cowboys are slow playing it again," Schefter said. "Micah Parsons is going to be at camp... The two sides aren't very close to a deal and I don't think the Cowboys have been overly aggressive about getting a deal done."
Maybe Parsons needs to take a firmer stance and not even show up at training camp.
But really, why would that be what it takes to get a deal done?
There's really no question that the Cowboys more or less have to do this deal. They can't let a transcendent talent like Parsons walk, can they?
If the answer is no, then it's just a matter of getting the deal over the line.

This tendency Dallas has to wait a long time on deals is bizarre. It has happened in the past, too.
They're in an immensely talented division with the Eagles and Commanders. They play those Eagles in Week 1 on the opening night of the season.
There's nothing good that comes from jeopardizing Parsons' availability with long contract negotiations.
