The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly pursuing both Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby and soon-to-be former Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson.

But one of the latest rumors surrounding Dallas' pursuit of both players doesn't bring good news, at least when it comes to Crosby.

According to former SportsCenter anchor Trey Wingo, the Cowboys thought they "were close to a deal" with the Raiders for Crosby on Wednesday night, but other teams stepped up and provided better offers.

Wingo goes on to note that those offers could potentially include two first-round picks, so it would appear the Cowboys were not willing to offer that much.

As a result of those teams throwing more at the Raiders, Wingo says that Dallas is now expected to pivot to Hendrickson.

"Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson," Wingo wrote.

The Raiders' reported asking price for Crosby has been two first-round picks and a player, so clearly Las Vegas has eased up on its astronomical demands.

If any team is equipped to unload two first-round picks, it's the Cowboys, who have three in the next two years. That said, as of right now it does not look like Dallas is willing to give them up, but that could very well change.

When it comes to Hendrickson, he will certainly be playing elsewhere in 2026 after the three-time Pro Bowler wasn't franchise-tagged and said his goodbyes to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Of course, Hendrickson can now be acquired via free agency, which means Dallas won't have to give up significant draft capital for him, but Hendrickson is also two years older than Crosby.
