Cowboys rumor could lead to blockbuster deal with Raiders

Entering April, the Dallas Cowboys aren’t where they want to be from a pass-rushing standpoint.

While there are plenty of assets that would fit well with the Cowboys' defensive scheme, the franchise has yet to land a game-changing Defensive end known for forcing opposing quarterbacks to make quick decisions in the pocket.

Based on a recent Cowboys rumor, though, the organization could complete a blockbuster deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in the foreseeable future.

"I don't anticipate, standing here right now, revisiting that situation (trading for Raiders star DE Maxx Crosby),” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday. “I don't anticipate it. Is it possible? Yes."

“We would've basically looked at the same conditions with a physical. And as you know, we were in on making an offer for him, So he would've come to Dallas so we'll all just guess what would've happened."

After Crosby’s deal with the Ravens fell through earlier this month, it was clear that the Cowboys, among other contending franchises, were back in the mix for the five-time Pro Bowler.

That said, with the Raiders planning on retaining Crosby for the time being, and Crosby recently expressing his love for Las Vegas’ organization, it’s unlikely the organization will entertain the idea of moving on from him anytime soon.

Crosby was electric with the Raiders last season, finishing the year with 73 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 15 games. As long as Jones keeps the door open for a potential trade centered on the Eastern Michigan product, the public will continue to speculate about his future in the big leagues.
