Cowboys predicted to suffer shocking fate in 2025 NFL season after schedule release

The Dallas Cowboys have done their best to get better this offseason. They traded for George Pickens, added about a billion new running backs and have a new head coach.

But what if none of it matters?

That's what The Sporting News' senior NFL writer Vinnie Iyer thinks.

A season after going 7-10, the Cowboys are projected by Iyer to again finish below their betting line for this year of 7.5 wins

"The Cowboys went 7-10 as the third-place NFC East team last season," Iyer writes, "and it's difficult to expect a bump to above. 500 with a transitional offense under new coach Brian Schottenheimer and some lingering defensive issues."

Dallas isn't helped by being in a strong division.

The Eagles are defending Super Bowl champions, and their NFC title game opponent was the Commanders.

Iyer projects both of them to go over their win totals.

He also thinks the Giants will beat their 5.5 after adding their offseason veterans.

Given all those offers, it makes sense for one of them to be doubted.

The Cowboys obviously won't love that, but the gridiron is the great equalizer, where everyone will get the chance to prove everyone wrong (or right).
