Cowboys now know what it might cost to trade for Raiders' Maxx Crosby

1 hour ago 2

The Dallas Cowboys' defense certainly missed Micah Parsons after they traded him away to the Green Bay Packers before the 2025 NFL season got underway.

They might just have a path to his replacement in the form of Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby.

There have been signs that Crosby isn't happy in Vegas, and if he goes on the trade market, he'll have a long list of suitors.

CBS Sports writer Tyler Sullivan lists four teams as potential suitors in a recent article: the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.

Sullivan also predicts that Crosby would cost a first-round pick and a second-round pick to be acquired in a trade by one of those teams.

Dallas could certainly benefit from a guy like Crosby, no matter the cost.

"Crosby is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, and we've seen that these types of elite talents can fetch quite a haul," Sullivan writes. "Green Bay sent two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark in exchange for star pass rusher Micah Parsons last summer. Parsons was 26 at the time of the trade, and Crosby will be entering his age-29 season in 2026, so a possible return may come in just under what Dallas received. It's worth noting that Crosby is signed through 2029, but only has $30 million left in guarantees remaining, which comes in 2026. That means an extension could also be on the horizon for teams looking to acquire him."

It'd certainly be quite the ironic full circle if the Cowboys traded for Crosby less than a year after sending Parsons away.

But from a football sense, it'd be logical. Dallas has a good enough offense. The defense needs to be better to get back to the playoffs.

The Cowboys have enough assets to get a deal done, if they decide they want to commit to Crosby long term in a way they didn't want to with Parsons.
