Micah Parsons is pursuing a record-setting contract much in the way he pursues quarterbacks, with relentlessness and a refusal to be denied.
The Dallas Cowboys almost certainly will give Parsons a deal worth more than $40 million per year, eventually.
But when? And will Parsons do anything in the meantime?
Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein interviewed Parsons recently and got the answer.
Parsons confirmed that he will indeed be there at training camp. But would he participate?
“We’ll see,” Parsons told Yahoo. “Time will tell.”
Cowboys fans must at least view that as better than an outright no.
Parsons may truly just want to see how people look without him. Is this a team he can win a Super Bowl with?

The superstar edge rusher has big aspirations beyond just making big money. He's had 12 or more sacks in each of his first four seasons, and he's hoping to use that ability in a playoff run soon.
To get deep into the playoffs, though, the Cowboys really need Parsons at his best, and to be his best, he needs the best preparation.
Waiting around through training camp rather than getting tuned up won't help anyone.
If Dallas is wise, this deal will get done before that stuff ever comes into play.
