The NFL's Week 6 games have almost come to a close, and looking back at the Dallas Cowboys' game against the Green Bay Packers, it was another frustrating finish. The Cowboys fell to the Packers, 23-13.

It's always hard to deal with a loss, but the Cowboys and Packers have history. They're heritage NFC teams, so this one stung for Dallas. The team's defense needs help, and it's easy to look back at the landmark Micah Parsons trade and wonder what could have been.

But even with the harsh reality of the season starting to sink in, the Cowboys may have found an unexpected ray of light after the Parsons trade.

The Cowboys' defense showed signs of life against the Packers

The Cowboys' defense was actually solid against the Packers. It was one of their best recent showings, and that has one NFL analyst wondering if this is the turnaround the team needs in a post-Parsons era.

In a piece published Monday, ESPN's Todd Archer suggested that perhaps having Parsons on the opposite sideline inspired the Cowboys' defense to deliver. Whatever the reason, they did just that.

"Maybe it's too early to call it a trend, but the Cowboys had three sacks," Archer wrote. "It is the first time this season the Cowboys have recorded at least three sacks in a game and just the second time in their past 11 games."

He added, "Maybe the mere presence of Micah Parsons on the other sideline inspired the Cowboys? Quinnen Williams had the first sack of Jordan Love, his second of the season. Elijah Garcia had the second, and former Packer Kenny Clark, part of the Parsons trade, recorded the third."

Perhaps another meeting with Parsons is just what this defense needed to get cooking again. We'll find out as the Cowboys continue their season, with the Philadelphia Eagles up next.
