The Dallas Cowboys are in the news again for potentially another blockbuster trade. There are rumors that the Cowboys are looking into a huge trade that would bring Las Vegas Raiders defensive star Maxx Crosby to Dallas.
According to 105. 3. The Fan out of Dallas, the Cowboys were inquiring about the star.
"On the Cowboys' end of it, this appears to be news to them. ... I think they're interested in trade opportunities. But right now, I think
@wingoz is reporting this from the Raiders end of things"
Former ESPN SportsCenter host Trey Wingo was one of the first to report this rumor.
A lot of people, including Wingo, are saying that the Cowboys are wasting Dak Prescott's MVP season, and Cowboys fans want owner Jerry Jones to do something about it.
So far this season, Prescott has thrown 17 touchdowns with no interceptions, and they are the highest scoring franchise in the league at 41 points per game, despite how horrible their defense is.
After beating the Washington Commanders and New York Giants, the Cowboys are 2-1 in the NFC East and are far from out of the playoff picture. It would only make sense if they traded for the Cowboys, whose Raiders team isn't going anywhere fast. They have an overall record of 2-5 and were beaten badly by the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-0.
Crosby, who has four sacks so far this season, played his high school ball in Colleyville, Texas, so this would be a homecoming of sorts for him.
But Cowboys insider Clarence Hill Jr. put stop to all that trade talk, at least for now.
"Per source, the Cowboys have not made any contact with the Raiders about Maxx Crosby. That doesn’t mean they haven’t had any internal discussions about possible moves or options. But “Haven’t talked to Raiders about Crosby”, per source.
So at least for now, a deal is not in place.
