Cowboys flirted as landing spot for All-Pro to help Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys' wide receiver room leaves much to be desired, a potential issue for a team looking to compete in 2025. Dak Prescott is expected to be back on the field and fully healthy, but outside of CeeDee Lamb, he doesn't have a legit target to throw the football to.

Many have suggested that the Cowboys will look to draft a wide receiver in the first round.

Depending on how things fall, they'll likely be able to consider a few options, but there's a scenario where Dallas should look to improve its room by signing a veteran.

If the Cowboys want to be as good as many fans want them to be, there are still a few proven players on the market who could be of significant help.

Pro Football Network believes one of them is Tyler Lockett, who found plenty of success during his 10-year career with the Seattle Seahawks

"There are decent odds that the Dallas Cowboys plan on addressing the receiver position with their first pick in the NFL Draft, but if they view Lockett as a reasonable Band-Aid that allows them to address other needs for an owner that is always in win-now mode, why not?

"CeeDee Lamb was the only Dallas receiver to reach 50 catches a season ago – he missed a pair of games and still had 22 more catches than any other WR had targets in this offense," PFN wrote.

Lockett isn’t the player he once was earlier in his career, but that's unfair to him, considering he's 32 years old.

Even in what was considered a down year for the veteran, he still posted 600 yards and played in all 17 games.

Availability is the best ability, and something the Cowboys are looking for.

If Lockett could be a shell of himself and do what he did in 2022, when he posted 1,033 yards and nine touchdowns, he'd give Prescott and the Cowboys another guy to make plays, something the team desperately needs.
