Micah Parsons was once seen as the future of the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, he is a relic of the franchise's past.
The All-Pro pass rusher was traded in 2025 after demanding a contract well above $40 million annually.
In Parsons' wake, Dallas has used some of that money on its new defensive cornerstone: Quinnen Williams.
After signing Williams to a 3-year, $106 million contract the Cowboys' front office took a not-so-subtle shot at Parsons.

Stephen Jones, the co-owner of the Cowboys, gave high praise to Quinnen Williams after signing him to an extension. But that high praise could be interpreted as a subtle diss at Micah Parsons.
Jones told The Athletic's Jon Machota that Williams is a "great player and one of the hardest practicing guys out there."
"He's a leader. We didn't have a lot of leadership on defense for the last couple of years," Jones added.
"We didn't have a lot of leadership on defense for the past couple of years."
That could be interpreted many ways. Maybe Jones thought his defense was too young in years past. Maybe he forgot about players like Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs who led the defense.
Or maybe, just maybe, Jones took aim at the player who sprawled out on a training table during a preseason game.

It was rumored as a big reason why Dallas chose to move on. They had been through tense negotiations with players like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, but this was another story. In the end, they shipped Parsons off to a conference foe in Green Bay.
Jones and Parsons are happier in their respective situations. Parsons got his record-breaking contract and Jones got what he sees as a cornerstone leader for his defense.
Yet even a year later, Jones is seemingly itching for subtle jabs. Parsons, who is infamous for an outspoken demeanor, could respond at any moment.
But words just words and both sides know it.
Super Bowls are the language of the league. Parsons will silence Jones if he hoists the Lombardi Trophy. Jones will get his day if his new defensive leader leads Dallas to the promised land.
