Cowboys 'bold' prediction involves replacing Dallas legend image

The Dallas Cowboys are going to have a few intriguing pieces added to the franchise by the time the week comes to an end.

Dallas has the No. 12 pick in the 2025 National Football League Draft and will make at least one big selection on Thursday when the draft kicks off. The No. 12 spot obviously will be the Cowboys' first chance to add some big-name talent, barring some sort of trade. It won't be their only chance, though. Dallas has 10 picks in the draft and has already been in trade rumors.

As the draft has approached, much of the speculation has been about which offensive playmaker the team could bring to town. But, what if they were to go in a different direction? That's exactly what Pro Football Network's Reese Decker thinks the team will do. Their "bold" prediction for the Cowboys involved using the No. 12 pick to improve the offensive line.

"Dallas Cowboys," Decker said. "Prediction: Re-Establish the Trenches. The Dallas Cowboys once had the NFL’s best offensive line, anchored by Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Travis Frederick. But with Martin retiring this offseason, that chapter is officially closed.

"While many expect Dallas to take a WR at No. 12, don’t be surprised if they return to their roots and rebuild the offensive line."

Clearly, there is a real need on the offensive line with Martin retiring this offseason already. Smith wasn't with the team in 2024 but also retired this offseason. It's a new era in Dallas and the offensive line does have some questions for the first time in a while. Will the Cowboys use their plethora of picks to help fix it?
