Courtney Love is making it unquestionably clear that she’s a Slayyyter stan.
On Tuesday (Aug. 25), the Hole frontwoman shared a carousel of photos and videos on her Instagram featuring the rising pop star, including candid photos of the two artists laughing, smiling and embracing and footage from Slayyyter’s sold-out Los Angeles performance at the Shrine Expo Hall on Monday night. In the caption, Love offered an especially enthusiastic endorsement of the 29-year-old singer, writing: “Protect our once in a generational talented witch queen geniuses with all we’ve got,” while tagging Slayyyter.
Love’s post follows her publicly praising Slayyyter for putting her own spin on Hole’s “Violet” during her turn on triple j’s “Like a Version” last week. Following the performance, Love shared a clip of the cover on Instagram and called it “a DELIGHT,” while jokingly telling Slayyyter to “keep wiping the floors with us.” Slayyyter responded in the comments, “hope we made you proud.”
Now, Love’s latest Instagram post takes her admiration for the rising celebrity a step further, with the rock icon throwing her support behind an artist who is having a breakout year of her own. Slayyyter’s latest album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, was released in March and has helped propel the singer to different levels of mainstream visibility. The project topped Billboard‘s Top Dance Albums chart, while Slayyyter’s current WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD TOUR has been selling out venues across the country, including her run in her hometown of St. Louis. Her Monday show in L.A. was sold out, following another sold-out show at the venue the previous night.
The singer also recently achieved her first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, scoring it this month when “brand new chanel$” debuted at No. 98 on the Aug. 15-dated chart.
