Cops called on feds pulling man from car in NYC as hecklers shout: ‘Show your faces!’

Federal agents pulled a man from a car in a dramatic caught-on-video scene in Washington Heights Wednesday morning – as onlookers filmed and one bellowed, “Show your faces!”

Someone even called the cops on the officers – all wearing street clothes, some emblazoned with the words “HSI [Homeland Security Investigations] Police” – as they tried to pull a man out of a black SUV at West 157th Street and Broadway, footage and officials said.

“What?” the man cries in the struggle, according to footage posted to X by Councilmember Shaun Abreu, who represents the area.

The clip shows a small crowd gathered, including a parent with a backpack-wearing little girl, as one man repeatedly demands, “Show your faces! Show your faces!”

NYPD cops briefly responded to the scene when they received a 911 call on what law enforcement officers call a “gun run” regarding four “suspicious” males with guns dragging another man out of a car, police said.

Two officers suffered minor injuries in the mayhem but they backed away when the armed ICE agents identified themselves as law enforcement members, the NYPD said.

The NYPD is prohibited from engaging in civil immigration enforcement and cannot step in to help the feds with such arrests.

Cesar Cortez, 36, of Guatemala, was taken into custody, law enforcement sources said.

The raid comes after democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won election as the next mayor of the Big Apple, with the mayor-elect set to look to stand in the way of President Trump’s hardline illegal immigration crackdown. Trump has said he’d withhold federal funding to the city if Mamdani became mayor.

Neither ICE nor HSI immediately responded to requests for comment from The Post.

“This video of someone being ripped off the street in front of our neighbors is deeply disturbing,” Abreu said in a statement. “ICE and other federal agencies that are carrying out Trump’s agenda of detaining people without due process have no place in our city.

“I condemn this despicable pattern of intimidation, and my office is working to find out more information on this morning’s events. Please stay vigilant and look out for one other.”
