Taraji P. Henson is “confused” about why celebrities are attending the Met Gala 2026, which is being funded by billionaire Jeff Bezos.

The “Empire” actress made her opinion on the topic known while responding to social media personality Meredith Lynch’s rant about Bezos’ involvement in the event.

“If you are a celebrity and you attend the Met Gala and you wear the ICE OUT pin, please note that I will be dragging you in perpetuity,” Lynch said in an Instagram video over the weekend.

“You cannot wear the ICE OUT pin to the Jeff Bezos-backed Met Gala,” the influencer continued, blaming the Amazon CEO for being “part of the reason we’re in this f–king mess.”

Lynch also slammed Bezos, 62, for supporting President Donald Trump, “who has slashed arts funding.”

“If you’re a publicist and at the last minute you’re thinking, ‘I don’t know if my client should go to the Met Gala’: let this be your video!'” Lynch added.

She captioned her video, “I love the ICE out pins but you can’t wear them to the @jeffbezos backed Met Gala!”

In the comments section, Henson, 55, shared three clapping hands emojis and wrote, “I am so confused by some ppl that are going. I am just like WTF ARE WE DOING!?!?!?!””

Henson has attended the Met Gala multiple times, including in 2015, 2021 and 2025.

Last year, she wore a custom white corseted minidress by Monse x Post-Imperial and a coordinating blazer with tails, a top hat, cane and heels.

Bezos, who is one of the world’s richest men, and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, are the lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs of the Met Gala 2026, which has a “Costume Art” theme.

The other co-chairs are Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.

We reported that Bezos and Sánchez, 56, paid at least $10 million to sponsor the event.

On Sunday night, activists projected a call to “boycott the Bezos Met Gala” onto a building visible from his penthouse, with messages highlighting issues of wealth inequality, climate accountability and labor rights.

But Bezos and Sánchez ignored the hate when they attended Wintour’s pre-Met Gala party at her private home in NYC.

Multiple celebrities are skipping this year’s Met Gala, including Zendaya, Meryl Streep and Bella Hadid, who “liked” Lynch’s viral Instagram post.

A source told Page Six that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani will not attend because “it goes against everything he believes in.”
