Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena could be on course to leave the club this month.

According to the Fichajes, the 26-year-old Alicante-born player is in advanced consideration for a move away from Barcelona with several sides showing interest.

Serie A club Como has emerged as a serious contender to sign him on a deal until June 2028, as part of an ambitious project led by Cesc Fabregas in a key role off the pitch.

Pena has been with Barcelona for several seasons, mainly as an understudy, but his opportunities have remained limited.

Pena is relegated as a fourth choice Goalkeeper behind Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, whose return to captaincy reportedly followed a resolution over a medical dispute that freed salary space to register Garcia and Szczesny in La Liga.

Even with Ter Stegen sidelined for the start of the campaign, Pena’s position has not improved.

Out of contract in less than 12 months, he has reportedly accepted the need to move in order to secure regular minutes.

Barcelona, aware they could lose him for free next summer reportedly want to cash in before the transfer window closes on September 1.

The timing of the departure, however, reportedly, depends on whether the club can achieve enough financial flexibility to complete its planned registrations.
