The Communitech Fast Track Cities Solutions Showcase will feature 10 of Canada’s top technology companies as they compete for $50 thousand in prizes by presenting their solutions to help streamline municipal operations and improve service delivery.

Fast Track Cities is a four-month collaborative program that brings together public and private sector partners from Ontario’s world-class tech ecosystem with local tech founders to use trusted innovation to solve problems in the movement of people and goods.

After careful consideration, 10 companies have been selected to participate in the Fast Track Cities showcase event and pitch their solutions to a live audience of potential collaborators and industry leaders.

The selected companies include:

In September, the collective put out a national call to tech companies to propose solutions focused on:

  • Inspection of larger sanitary trunk sewer systems
  • Autonomous technology solutions
  • Tech for tourism management
  • Artificial intelligence for administrative efficiency
  • Transportation and mobility solutions

“At Communitech, we are dedicated to supporting founders as they break into new markets faster and more efficiently,” said Carleigh Johnston, Senior Program Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Communitech. “Fast Track Cities, in collaboration with our challenge partners at the City of Kitchener and the Municipal Innovation Council, provides an exciting opportunity for founders to connect directly with potential partners and industry experts as they share their impactful solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing our cities. The showcase event is sure to be a day full of innovation and opportunity.”

“At the City of Kitchener, we are committed to fostering innovation that improves how we serve our residents,” said Brenda Johnson, Director of Financial Operations at the City of Kitchener. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Communitech on this project and look forward to valuable solutions that would emerge from the showcase event. Through the Pitch Kitchener program, we are advancing the city’s strategic goals while forging stronger partnerships with Canadian startups to address some of our city’s most pressing challenges.”
