Commanders vs. Eagles best bets, player props, anytime TD scorers for TNF: Saquon Barkley, Austin Ekeler look for paydirt

14 hours ago 1

Football is better when NFC East rivals square off and both are doing well. Over the past decade, Washington and New York have lagged behind Dallas and Philly, but it’s amazing to see what landing a ridiculously-talented dart-slinging QB can do for a franchise. Case in point, the Commanders' revolving door at QB has slammed to a stop, and Jayden Daniels will be the guy from years to come.

For the NFL Week 11 opener, TNF prop bets abound in a clash between the Commanders (7-3) and the tush-pushing Eagles (7-2).

As Washington makes the short trip up the eastern seaboard to Philadelphia, the home Eagles are favored by -3.5, and the over/under sits in the 48.5-49 range at NFL betting sites. The matchup between Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels will likely feature plenty of offensive production from both squads.

The Eagles' +72 point differential (233-161) and the Commanders' +73 (290-217) are remarkably similar, and signals that these teams are well-positioned to make noise come playoff time.

Best player props & anytime TD scorer bets for Commanders vs. Eagles on TNF

Here are some interesting TNF player prop bets we are targeting tonight:

Saquon Barkley Anytime TD Scorer

Bill Belichick’s recent takedown of the Giants for letting Saquon walk and in effect replacing him with a non-difference making offensive lineman was as accurate as it was stinging. Good thing there isn’t a prop bet involving having to make sense of that decision. Barkley has been his bad self all year, dazzling defenses with backward hurdles and other jaw-dropping moves. Barkley needs just nine rushing yards to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, and his six rushing TDs and two receiving scores make a Barkley anytime TD scorer bet seem like something other than a longshot.

Austin Ekeler Anytime TD Scorer

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Austin Ekeler being washed and on his way out of the league were greatly exaggerated. After being jettisoned by the Chargers, it seemed that Washington might be Ekeler's last stop before fading out of the league. Instead, this proven veteran back has been a valuable asset. He’s scored three TDs over the last two weeks, and his 5.2 YPC has been a pleasant surprise. Don’t expect Ekeler to supplant Brian Robinson and become an RB1 again, but don’t rule him out of the end zone, either!

Dallas Goedert OVER 30.5 Receiving Yards

Saquon, Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith deservedly get more recognition than Goedert for fueling the Philadelphia offense, but this veteran TE’s effectiveness should not be overlooked. Dallas (Goedert) made the most of his three targets during last week’s 34-6 walloping of the Dallas (Cowboys), hauling in two catches for 25 yards and an impressive TD where he boxed out the defender. Don’t be surprised if Jalen Hurts’ reliable TE is targeted near the goal line again, and if so, don’t be surprised if he finds paydirt.

Zach Ertz UNDER 32.5 Receiving Yards

Speaking of Philadelphia TEs, Zach Ertz spent from 2013-2021 as one and has a Super Bowl ring to show for it. He returns tonight to his old stomping grounds and is still chugging along, notching 381 receiving yards in 10 games this season. However, his production and role in this offense aren’t what they used to be in the prime of his career. Jayden Daniels is due to have a poor showing in a primetime game (that certainly wasn’t the case when he and Washington torched the Bengals on TNF earlier this season), and if that is the case tonight, Ertz may fall short of this prop bet projection.
