The Washington Commanders held their first training camp practice without their top wide receiver.
Terry McLaurin is officially holding out and was placed on the reserve/did not report list.
In his place, the Commanders have signed another WR, Tay Martin.
Martin caught a 49-yard touchdown last season for the Tennessee Titans.
The 6-foot-3 Martin split his college career between Washington State and Oklahoma State.
He played the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the 49ers, appearing in three total games.

His lone NFL catch thus far is that 49-yarder for six that he had last season in the only game he was on the active roster for the Titans.
Martin likely amounts to a camp body while McLaurin's situation is figured out.
It's a good opportunity for the 27-year old, though, to try and prove he belongs on an NFL field. And sometimes one player's holdout is another player's chance.
