The Indianapolis Colts have gotten through the NFL Draft, but there are some positions that remain undecided.
While Indianapolis did a strong job addressing the tight end and edge rusher spots during the draft, there are still major question marks at the right guard position.
The Colts may lean on second-year offensive lineman Matt Goncalves to hold down the role, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they looked at the free agent market to add some depth and competition.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report had the Colts listed as a potential fit for former Jacksonville Jaguars guard Brandon Scherff.
"The five-time Pro Bowler has also been extremely durable in recent years and didn't miss a start in the last three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars," Knox wrote. "Scherff probably won't be viewed as a long-term option. However, teams that believe they can contend in 2025 or who are looking to put an experienced veteran in front of a young quarterback should be interested."
If the Colts wanted to add more competition to the right guard spot, then bringing Scherff in is likely the move.
A five-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro selection in 2020, Scherff could be in the mix to sign a deal between $6-7 million, according to Spotrac's market value.
The current regime has a win-now mindset considering the last four years have resulted without a playoff appearance. Adding a veteran like Scherff could help bolster a position that is currently viewed as a question mark.
