Colts sign huge 6-foot-3, 235-pound RB after NFL Draft

They don't make too many running backs like Jordon Vaughn.

Vaughn is one of the newest members of the Indianapolis Colts after signing as an undrafted free agent, and he's huge.

He was listed in his final college season at Abilene Christian as 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds. That's about as big as an RB will get this side of Derrick Henry.

Vaughn is originally from Manvel, Texas, where he was a three-star recruit. He spent his first two college seasons at Wyoming but got just 16 total carries there.

He then played sparingly in his first two seasons at Abilene Christian, too, before finally getting a real opportunity in 2025.

He finished his final college season having run the ball 114 times for 671 yards, which is 5.9 yards per carry. That included eight rushing touchdowns.

Vaughn also had 11 catches for 72 yards in 2025 for ACU.

The path to a roster spot for an undrafted free agent is never easy, but Vaughn's size means he brings a totally different element to the table.

The Colts have Jonathan Taylor, and last year's fifth-round pick DJ Giddens, and this year's seventh-round pick Seth McGowan, but this is not a deep RB room behind Taylor. If Vaughn can impress in rookie minicamp and the summer, he'd have a chance to at least get on the practice squad and maybe eventually more.

It took Vaughn a while even to get a real chance in college football, so he's certainly used to being patient and trying to prove people wrong.
