The Indianapolis Colts are the team to watch at the 2026 NFL trade deadline, as there is a lot of attention on the Jonathan Taylor sweepstakes this season. Plenty of teams have been interested, but the New York Giants are one of the favorites.

At least, that was the case heading into Week 9. But according to Jay Glazer for FOX Sports NFL, the Giants have pulled a strong trade offer off the table and now might not be in play for the Colts' running back. But that's not the only big Taylor update.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Giants' offer of a second-round pick is reportedly the only offer the Colts have gotten, including a Round 2 selection, which likely indicates Taylor is sticking in Indianapolis.

Colts get huge Jonathan Taylor update as Giants pull lone 2nd-round pick offered for star RB.

"Sources: The belief around the NFL is that the Colts will likely end up keeping RB Jonathan Taylor unless they receive an offer too good to turn down," Schultz reports. "The Giants were the only team to offer a 2nd-round pick plus additional compensation to this point."

As the Colts have weighed trade offers and interest in their star running back, the Giants' offer was seemingly the best one they received so far this season.

Glazer revealed that the Giants offered a second- and fifth-round pick to the Colts for Taylor. Obviously, the Colts didn't do the trade, and now, Glazer is reporting that the offer is no longer on the table for the Colts to take.

So, with Schultz's report that the Giants are the only team to offer a second-round pick and more, and Glazer's report that the Giants have pulled their offer, the Colts no longer have the best offer they could've gotten on the table.

What that means is that, barring a team beating that Giants' trade package by offering a second-round pick and more than a fifth-rounder on top of it, the Colts look likely to keep Taylor.

It would be a horrible look for the Colts to turn down the Giants' offer, and then trade Taylor for less than what they had on the table at one point.

But, with the report from Schultz in mind, it would take a team really upping their offer to acquire Taylor from the Colts. A trade doesn't look likely right now, but with Tuesday's trade deadline still days away, there is time for things to change.
