Colts' Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones get underwhelming predictions

4 hours ago 1

The Indianapolis Colts enter the 2025 season with a big question: Who will be the starting quarterback?

Will it be Anthony Richardson? Or will it be Daniel Jones? Richardson needs to improve in the passing game, and last year was evident to that testament.

Richardson threw 12 interceptions in just 11 games, which led veteran Joe Flacco to start a handful of games in relief of Richardson. Jones, on the other hand, was a disaster with the New York Giants and then picked up by the Minnesota Vikings.

Neither option is too exciting, and ESPN insider Mike Clay had some telling projections. While he had Richardson playing in more games, neither one of their stats jumped off the page.

  • Anthony Richardson: 10 games, 2,034 yards, 10 TD, 8 INT
  • Daniel Jones:  games, 1,312 yards, 6 TD, 5 INT

That's not encouraging for either quarterback.

Both quarterbacks have things to figure out if they want to run away with the job, and Clay's predictions show that it is a revolving door at the QB position once again in Indianapolis.

The Colts also did draft Riley Leonard from Notre Dame, although it figures he is headed for the practice squad as he works on improving his game and getting adjusted to the NFL despite a strong college career between Duke and Notre Dame.

So, all in all, Colts fans might want to prepare for another frustrating season from the QB position, unless the Colts make a trade for somebody.
