The Cleveland Browns have five quarterbacks on their roster and face plenty of tough decisions. They even drafted two QBs this year: Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders — both with plenty of potential despite being the least experienced players on the roster.
Signs point toward Sanders making the team, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.
“As for Sanders, he’ll definitely make the Browns’ roster this season, but he has a steep climb to the starting job, with Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, the Browns’ third-round pick, all in his way,” Cabot wrote.
In fact, Sanders is predicted to start at some point for the Browns.
“He’s still a longshot to start on opening day, but if he knocks the Browns’ socks off during the preseason, he’ll at least remain in the conversation. It’s more likely that he’d make his way onto the field later in the season, but no one has been ruled out yet in the four-man competition among veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Sanders,” Cabot stated.
However, things may have taken a turn on Tuesday when Sanders was pulled over for speeding.

“An officer for the Strongsville (Ohio) Police Department stopped Sanders at 12:24 a.m. for driving 41 mph over the posted 60 mph speed limit in his black Dodge TRX truck, according to records,” ESPN reported.
Suddenly, Sanders’ pre-draft concerns may have come to light again.
“A speeding ticket is far from the worst offense a person can commit, but this won’t do anything to challenge perceptions that Sanders lacks the maturity NFL teams look for in their franchise quarterback,” NBC’s Michael David Smith wrote.
Making a mistake like this with a roster spot on the line is far from ideal. And with many teams already skeptical about Sanders, the buzz around his maturity issues has only grown louder — not quieter.
