Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders questioned on if he was drag racing his girlfriend during speeding incident

There’s a new wrinkle in Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders’ speeding incident in Strongsville, Ohio, this past Tuesday: his girlfriend was going 92 MPH but wasn’t ticketed like he was because she was going under 100 MPH.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio connected the dots but fell short of accusing the two of drag-racing.

“A woman identified as Sanders’s girlfriend was pulled over at the same time, in a different car. The officer said she was driving 92 miles per hour,” Florio wrote.

“The officer decided not to give her a ticket. The officer said he had to ticket Sanders, given that his speed exceeded 100 miles per hour.

“There’s no suggestion that the two may have been racing. Regardless, they were in two separate cars and they both were traveling at a high rate of speed.”

Florio has been highly skeptical of the incident from multiple angles.

The NBC Sports host didn’t believe Sanders’ apology at his Cleveland Browns teammate David Njoku’s charity softball game on Thursday was sincere.

“The words look good. The delivery didn’t match them. Watch it and decide for yourself on whether the attitude matches the message,” Florio wrote.

“Whether he has truly gotten the message will be revealed by future behavior. He should have known everyone was paying attention to everything he does. If he didn’t before, he does now.”

Sanders damaged his reputation by getting his second ticket in a week over the same issue. The first one was so fresh that Sanders hadn’t even paid the fine yet.

Cleveland is within their rights to cut bait now, but they don’t appear set on doing so.

The Browns’ brain trust won’t forget this incident anytime soon, though.
