Star college football offensive lineman and NFL prospect Carius Curne was arrested in Arkansas for drug possession and then dangerously speeding to try to flee arrest.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound sophomore, who transferred from LSU to Ole Miss this offseason, was arrested just after 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Crittendon County Sheriff’s Office.

Curne, 20, was charged with fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, improper lane change and possession of a Schedule VI substance of less than four ounces. He was released less than two hours after he was arrested, the Mississippi Clarion Ledger reported.

If convicted of the drug charge, Curne faces up to one year in prison, a $2,500 fine and a mandatory six-month driver’s license suspension, per Arkansas state law.

Curne, of Hughes, Arkansas, signed with LSU Tigers as a five-star prospect in the 2025 Recruiting Cycle, according to Sports Illustrated.

Known for his elite athleticism, Curne played eight games as a true freshman for LSU and earned his first start at right tackle after teammate Weston Davis suffered a pregame injury.

After last season, Curne decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal rather than wait for LSU’s incoming coach Lane Kiffin, who walked out on Ole Miss.

He was considered one of the top transfers offensive linemen available before he joined coach Pete Golding’s Ole Miss Rebels squad.

A graduate of Marion High School in Crittenden County, Curne was the No. 1-ranked recruit in Arkansas in the 2024 class.

He is believed to have NFL draft potential if he can manage to stay on the field and out of trouble.
