Coastal Carolina's win streak began on April 25th, taking the first game of a three-game series against James Madison. From there, the Chanticleers won their final 14 games of the regular season, finishing 44-11.

Next up, Coastal Carolina played in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, where it won four straight games to take the title. That helped Coastal Carolina earn a chance to host a regional in the College Baseball Tournament, and the Chants cruised to victory against Fairfield once and East Carolina twice to advance.

Perhaps Coastal Carolina's toughest test was in the Super Regionals when it traveled to Auburn to take on the Tigers. However, the Chanticleers took care of Auburn in two straight games, punching their ticket to the College World Series.

Once they arrived in Omaha, Coastal Carolina showed no signs of slowing down, defeating Arizona, Oregon State, and Louisville to advance to the College World Series finals for the second time in the program's history.
