CM Punk made it clear what he thought of Giants fans ripping running back Cam Skattebo for his appearance at WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” at Madison Square Garden.
Skattebo, who is recovering from surgery after a season-ending ankle injury, got physical ringside with members of The Judgment Day on Monday.
He got face-to-face with Dominik Mysterio and then shoved JD McDonagh, which started a fracas between the wrestlers and the fellow members of the Giants in attendance.

Punk, a Bears fan and currently WWE’s World Heavyweight champion, believes those people don’t know what they are talking about.
“Life’s not fair, but I think that those [critics] are just stupid Giants fans. Like, do you want to alienate him anymore, so he doesn’t want to play for your s–ty franchise? Yeah, I said it,” Punk said during an appearance on Barstool Sports’ “The Yak” on Wednesday. “I don’t know the politics of the Giants and their fans and all that other stuff, but it seems ridiculous to me.
Cam Skattebo (l.) on “Monday Night Raw.” WWE/XHe made the point that celebrities and sports stars have been intermingling with pro wrestlers for years, and this shouldn’t be treated differently since he didn’t do “a backflip off the top rope and re-injured himself” or impede his recovery in any way.
“I don’t understand,” Punk said. “What are you upset about? Dude’s out with a broken leg. He broke his leg for you, playing for your football Giants, and now you’re just going to try and be upset at him? For what? I don’t understand it.”
Skattebo, 23, took a similar tact when addressing his critics via a social media post on Tuesday.
“Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” he wrote Tuesday in a post to X. “I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy,” he added. “Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.”
The Giants have been nothing but supportive of their star rookie, who has 410 yards and five touchdowns to go along with 207 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Interim head coach Mike Kaftka said he trusts Skattebo and their medical staff.
“It was a rookie event,’’ Kafka said Wednesday. “We have some team events that our support staff put together for the rookies to kind of get out. So, I thought it was a cool thing. I know it was like a staged little brawl there. It was great to see Skatt on the pregame, on the sideline. His juice, his energy, you can feel it. I can feel it through the TV and through my phone when I was watching the clips. So, it’s a cool event for those guys to kind of get out and be out in the community.’’
