The Cleveland Browns don't have enough talent to not select the best player available in the 2026 NFL Draft. Whoever the Browns think is the best player on the draft board needs to be in Cleveland, no matter what unfolds.
Offensive help has obviously been viewed as the top priority for the Browns, as they haven't done enough on that side of the football over the past few years.
However, Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports predicted that the Browns will select Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. with the No. 6 overall pick, giving them another high-impact defender to pair with Myles Garrett.
“Seems like everyone has the Browns locked into an offensive tackle or a receiver here, but I’m not convinced they’ll pass on better talent on the other side of the ball, despite those glaring needs. Lining up a dominant, three-down edge player like Bain across from Myles Garrett would be a nightmare for opposing offenses, making both players more dangerous, and Cleveland should still have strong options at OT/WR with their pair of remaining top-40 picks.”
I honestly don't hate the idea of going out and getting a player of the Miami standouts' caliber, as there's an argument to be made that he has a chance to be a generational player off the edge.
Pairing Bain with Garrett would give Cleveland one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league, and Bain can learn a lot from the Browns veteran.
